2004-02-24 - 11:33 a.m.

So, my 21st birthday was absolutely amazing. To begin with, I had my radio show at 11 PM on Friday night, and naturally it's an hour-long show. So we did a countdown to my birthday on the air while munching Smarties and listening to great Canadian music (wsrn.swarthmore.edu, if any of you are interested...) At 3 minutes to midnight, 6 friends came barging in the studio, all of whom had been listening at the art studio next door. It was -really- nice.

Saturday itself I had a meeting with my fellow RAs and ate excellent food in the breakfast room (and had a note up for me on the "what do you want to order" board! Yay Jeff!) Then I slept some, eventually went shopping, skipped dinner, rehearsed with the Band, then went to the English Scottish Ball. The ball was beautiful, and I got to dance with oodles of lovely alums, and dress up and look at beautiful men in kilts.

I left early, raced to get a party permit, and came back to make guacamole and quesadillas. Alcohol had been purchased earlier in the day (but I wasn't carded! Bah!) consisting of champagne, whisky, and rum for rum cake.

The actual party was great. Lots and lots of people from all over campus, different social groups, everything. My band played really well, and we were very well recieved. It was just good. Good good people.
